Thought post-hardcore was dead? Try telling that to Big Ups and the rest of the reemerging scene in both the UK and US. Having released their debut LP “Eighteen Hours of Static” at the beginning of the year, it’s easy to see why so many people are investing time back into an almost forgotten genre.
Big Ups deserve their namesake, skillfully combining grinding guitars with fine-tuned precision not seen since the 90’s; this is a band which takes you one way with a song before blasting you to somewhere unknown – and that’s a great thing.
On top of this, playing in such a great venue as The Shipping Forecast is sure to make this one extra special bomb of a gig.
At only £6, why miss one of the most exciting shows of the month, if not the year? (Tickets)
