‘For Laura, For the Morning’ is a powerful, yet delicate track by the beautifully orchestrated Liverpool band Mono Sideboards. It offers a tantalising experience of what’s in store when the band release their album The Pains of Being Frank Lamb later this year.
Joining the atmospheric lead vocals is the backing vocals of Liverpool-based artist Kylee Beencke, together creating a magically harmonised rhythm. Along with this the interval in the middle of the song made up of an old film clip flows effortlessly around the drum backing.
The hypnotic guitar melody brings the whole track together, making it a fusion of folk vibes similar to artists such as Bon Iver and Laura Marling with a hint of psychedelia. This nostalgic track is perfect listening for a relaxing Sunday morning.
As well as the forthcoming album, Mono Sideboards also have an EP in the works, which will hopefully be released around Spring.
