From LSRadio’s very own Tom Anderson and Liverpool based band comes the debut easy-listening single that is ‘Sinking Ships’. With an opening similar to that of Two Door Cinema Club’s ‘I Can Talk’, a guitar-fuelled anthem is expected. That is until the soothing vocals of Anderson glide over the electronic backing vocals bringing the track into its accompaniment of a swaying motion. The gentle backing of Ryan William’s drums and Christopher Connor’s bass pushes the rock basis back into full swing and the powerful lyrics provide a ballad-like delight. Accompanied with an artistic and calming video it is clear to see that this band are determined to make fresh sounds and make their melodic presence known.
Playing with bands who have toured with the likes of Jimmy Eat World and The 1975 shows that things are shaping up quite nicely for Venus Demilo, and they are definitely tipped for big things. Be prepared for their rather beautiful explosion onto the music scene anytime soon.
The lads have two support slots coming up;
