UOL Help the Homeless Society & The Shoebox Full of Love Appeal
Grace Farnham | 24 November 2016 |
If you tuned in to last week’s news show, you might have caught some information on how to get involved with the shoebox full of love appeal that various charities and societies are getting involved in. If you missed it, fear not, here is a brief overview of how to get involved.
The appeal is pretty similar to the ‘love in a box’ charities you might have got involved with at school. The idea is that anyone who wants to donate, can fill a shoebox with essentials, which will then be distributed to homeless and vulnerable people around Merseyside.
To get involved all you need to do is find an old shoe box, wrap it in Christmas paper and fill it with essential items. The boxes can be made with men, women, teenagers, children or dogs in mind – Help the Homeless have provided information on what to include if you’re not sure. Once you’ve finished, make sure you drop it off at the guild reception by the 9th December, it will then be distributed to people in need.
This is the third year that the appeal is running, and the society hope that it will be the most successful appeal yet – get wrapping!
