Five British nationals have died following a car crash in Sweden.

The dead are believed to be the members of up and coming indie band Viola Beach and their manager.

It has been reported that the car Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe and Jack Dakin were travelling in went through a barrier of an open bridge.

Concerns were raised among fans last night on local social media following a cancelled gig; the band was meant to be playing alongside Blossoms in Guildford.

Viola Beach were set to play at Liverpool’s Sound City later in the year, as well as other dates in Texas and festivals around the UK.

An investigation has been launched to find out what happened, with tributes pouring in on social media for the Warrington-based band.
